Better Control with Pure Spin Wedges?
Golfers frequently finish a round and reflect on how they could have of scored better that day. They formulate an opinion, and quickly run out and purchase some golf equipment that will remedy the problem. They use their new equipment in the next few rounds and quickly realize that a specific piece of equipment designed for a specific problem does not improve their overall game. The new product gets dumped in the garage right next to other junk.
The problem with a pure spin wedge is that it is only designed to improve a specific part of your game. This means that you will need to carry a tremendous amount of clubs for all the problems you face on the course. Unfortunately, its against USGA (United States Golf Association) rules to carry 50 clubs a round.
What you need is a universal club that is designed to improve many different aspects of your game. You need a wedge that not only increases your spin, but also improves club head control for lies in all types of conditions. Some of these universal wedges create such a soft feel that you can even go back to using your harder golf balls. Until the development of these wedges, using hard golf balls for your short game would have hindered your short game scores.
